Yesterday we went to my grandmother's house in Virginia Beach to have lunch with the family and visit with an good family friend who was visiting my grandmother. Mary Lynn, the visitor, and my grandmother go way back to their girl scout days:) It's always fun to see them together. After lunch we older four girls sang a few songs that we sang at church a few weeks back. Oh! And our family has our first official singing engagement coming up in the spring:) We'll be giving a special program at my grandmother's church where we'll do some singing and telling about the farm, etc. It should be fun.
A few weeks ago we got a new puppy! She's a Great Pyrenees that we got from some friends of ours, the Fuhrmanns. We're planning on trying a new model for our broiler chickens this season in which we wouldn't use the electric netting. We've found that the broiler chickens will stay within a close proximity to their pen. So if we were able to expel the predator issues that would arise, we could leave them without netting which would make them easier to care for. So we're going to experiment and see if we can pull it off using the dog to protect them. We'll keep you updated on further developments:)
Below are a few pictures Katie took yesterday at our grandmother's house.....
Enjoy!
