Pig Pickin' and Square Dance

Last Saturday we attended the graduation of a friend of ours, we had a great time! The graduation was held at an old plantation home, and there were around 200 guests! Here are some pictures from our fun time. -Morgan

Alaina and Justin Wright, and Grace and Daniel Tate came up with us to the event. We had a good time of fellowship in the car on the way up there and back.

Milking Lessons

Our family has been invited to a friend's graduation up near Richmond, they're planning a pig pickin' and a square dance, we're really looking forward to it! We want to be able to stay as long as it lasts and not have to hurry home to milk our eight cows, so some good friends of ours, (their last name happens to be Wilson as well:) are are going to milk for us, so last Saturday they came over for milking lessons. We are so grateful for their willingness to take care of our animals while we're gone. Here are some pictures from that night.

The Kitchen Project

About a year and a half ago, we noticed the floor around our kitchen sink appeared to be sagging. After further investigation, (pulling up tile and floor boards all the way down to the sub floor) we discovered we had severe water damage. Well, we didn't have time to deal with it then so it was put on "the list", those of you with large family's and lots to do probably know what I mean:) Well, approximately one year and a half later the kitchen finally reached the top of the list. It was God's perfect timing really, we were able to hire a man from our church to do it and for the past three days now we've been working on the kitchen, gutting it and "redoing" it. Mr. Doering has been very gracious in allowing us children to help him. Here are some pictures from the past three days. -Morgan

Day 1:

Rather scary looking, is it not?

The paper towel holder refused to budge so Will decided to take matters into his own hands.

After pull-ups and finally a hammer, Will succeeded in detaching it from the wall, only to find it had been held in place by sticky strips.

Mr. Doering taking down a cabinet.

Day 2:

Tearing down the wall.

The kitchen half of the wall torn down.

We children had a lot of fun at this part.

A Gabriel view of the project.

Even the little ones got to help.

Day 3:

There is a Proverb in the Bible which says, "Don't pull a dog by the ears" interpreted, "Don't mess with someone bigger than you" well, Will did not heed that proverb and he payed for it.......

(All in cheerful fun of course!)

(tickle, tickle, tickle!)

Before he left, Mr. Doering set up the stove, refrigerator and sink. Now it's up to us to get the floor, cabinets, etc. before he can continue.

Enjoying The Calm After The Storm

Yesterday we had strong storms during the morning and early afternoon, and we were under a tornado warning as well. We nervously remembered last spring when we had several tornadoes and strong storms in our area. Thankfully, we were spared any damage. Toward the middle of the afternoon the storms passed leaving a beautiful, sparkling afternoon behind. We enjoyed the rest of the warm day outside.-Morgan
