Not Again!
Yes, once again, Full Quiver Farm has been visited by our not so beloved friend, Mr. Skunk. He will not leave us alone! Or maybe it's that our dog won't leave him alone..... A couple of days ago, Maddie and Will were in the barn loading up feed for the animals when they were distracted by our dog's frantic barking. They went over to investigate. Behind an old sofa in the barn, Maddie saw a pair of large green eyes looking up at her. She thought is was our cat and she started poking at it with a stick, moving it around. All of the sudden it dawned on her, "Skunk!" she screamed to Will, who was right behind her, "Run!!!" They tripped over each other in a mad dash for the door, the horrible smell seeming to chase right at their heels! They raced to the end of the driveway and stood panting a moment before realizing they had to go back and finish getting the feed. They tried holding their breath but the smell seemed to seep in anyways, gaggingly strong. They hurriedly grabbed the last of the feed bags and then raced over to tell Katie, Hannah and I who were milking, (or supposed to be anyways, we were a bit distracted at the moment, talking, hehehe!) "A skunk!" they hollered, bursting into the workshop, the wonderful perfume following them. We shrieked and raced away from them as the smell hung like a cloud around them. Thankfully, the smell did not last on them but was mostly gone by the time they had finished their chores. Sadly, Bessie the dog, is still confined to the great outdoors where her horrible smell doesn't affect the rest of us.
