Spring Planting

Yesterday, we put in our spring garden, with some help from Justin, Tim and Ben Wright who we go to church with. We planted potatoes, onions, peas, radishes, carrots, lettuce and spinach.

Gearing Up For the 2009 Growing Season

These are the broiler chicks that were posted about eight weeks ago, now they are full grown and ready to be processed.

This is our newest batch of chicks, they are about one week old. They'll be ready in May.

Dad and Will spreading manure over the garden. Later in the afternoon they plowed it in. We hope to plant some tomorrow before the expected rain later in the week.

Young Adult Gathering at the Wilsons' Place

On March 13th, we hosted a Young Adult Gathering at our place, we had a great time! It was rather cold and rainy outside so we played inside games such as Dutch Blitz, Guess Who and Pictionary. After the delicious dinner made by our Mom, Katie, Maddie and I went out to milk, lots of our friends came out to help us. Earlier in the week, Katie and Maddie had made a chore chart and assigned all of the different jobs, then they pasted it on a freezer so everyone could see what they were supposed to do. We had a great time and hope to have another one soon! -Morgan, Katie and Maddie

"Sugar and Spice, and Everything Nice..."

Last Saturday, Maddie's LaMancha goat "Nutmeg" had twin does! These little girls are our first goat kids born on our farm. You may notice the hardly have any ears, some people ask if we cut them off, but that's just specific to their bred. Maddie decided to call them "Sugar" and "Spice" as their Mama was a spice name.
